It’s that time again when we all head outdoors to savor those warm days and evenings with family and friends. Here are few of the items that will need to be added to the “Honey Do” list over the next few weeks as we get ready to start gardening and entertaining:
1) Clean the Grill
Make sure to scrub down the grate with a wire brush and empty out the ashes. For stubborn grime, soak the pieces in hot water and dish soap. Scrub and rinse off for the new grilling season.
2) Power Wash the Deck and Furniture
Just like everything starts anew each spring, you’ll want to give your outdoor furniture a fresh, clean look at the start of the season. If your furniture needs a good scrubbing, take a stronger scrub brush and sponge and wipe off all the grime. Rinse everything off for a fresh start for a summer filled with entertaining.
3) Clear Out Gutters and Downspouts
Remove the leaves and debris from downspouts and gutters. Flush and adjust downspouts to make sure the water runs away from the house.
4) Wash Windows
Nobody loves this task, so break it down into sections. Each weekend you spend some time on chores and leave some time for enjoyment. Focus on the westerly windows where the weather hits those surfaces harder. Using a squeegee to make the streaks disappear.
5) Garage Donation
Time to recycle and clear out paint, unused oil, old fertilizer, grass seed, broken tools, and whatever else you have lying around. Give the garage a clean sweep and get rid of all the unnecessary clutter.
A clean and organized home is the perfect start to easy living. We just brought out our Restoration Hardware chaise lounges and the umbrella to start enjoying the spring season early!
